Policies and Limits of Responsibility
dedicated to improving the quality of life in
SLOCO

    How?
  • Provide quality features free of charge
  • Provide information that is useful to SLOCO citizens
  • Enlist the support of SLOlings in useful, informative projects that generate:
    • Well-being
    • Culture
    • Organic unity
    • Esteem for the region and national revenue that supports local projects targeted at the above elements
Realizing that the norm is not necessarily right, ourSLO places its focus on what citizens want and need. So, ourSLO is more concerned with a citizen forum where citizens can speak freely. The freedom to speak carries certain responsibility. When citizens speak here all the citizen has to do is
  • Speak the truth
  • Or
  • Clarify that what they are saying is conjecture, hearsay or whatever else it might be that distinguishes it from being certainly the truth.
What is the norm mentioned above? Other media edit by exclusion or modification anything they don't like using as umbrella of excuse "community standards". Succinctly, that norm then is ostensibly an angel of proper providence but is really the devil of free speech impediment. We edit only in extreme cases. We expect users to be responsible citizens who independently exercise discretion.

So, striking out in what will probably be a frequent and typical deviation from the norm, ourSLO simply says our policy is let the citizen speak and citizen, don't libel and don't unjustly cast doubt but do:

  • Question authority
  • Think for yourself
Refrain if possible from the ad hominem attack and focus on the reality and its probable consequence and potential resolutions and the well-being of your community.

Thank you.
