Third Thursday (Poets Night Out)

Not everyone can buzz down to SLO town or other far flung regions of the county for poetry readings as often as we did in decades past. For a long time now we have needed a venue for readings north of the grade: readings that feature local and/or visiting poets and offer an open microphone for practicing poets from ages nine to 90, figuratively speaking. Ideally, these events will fuel the creative fire of all the poets involved and contribute to a growing appreciation for poetry in the community. Third Thursday (Poets Night Out) is a response to that need.
SLO County is blessed with a growing community of fine poets. What a mutual gift it is to become acquainted with these poets by offering a venue where they can present their work and our audience can appreciate and enjoy that work while experiencing the broad spectrum of unique and entertaining poetic voices.
