Beat Poetry jack mothershed
In our DEC 1, 2004 reading, we will feature poetry performed to beats. As we often do, we are asking you, the poetry minded public to particpate. Here's how. Click on the beat of your choice below and practice reading your poem to it.
We will present these same beats at our reading. Anyone wanting to perform a poem to a beat can do so.
Several people have already said they would be delighted to participate. So join them and have some fun.
In addition to the feature, as always, our regular open mike is open to all to perform whatever poetry they want to do. We have a separate open mike as well for anyone to do original songs with whatever accompaniment they wish to present. The poetry reading then flows into an open jam.
If you have Quick Time installed (most people do), the selected beat will download automatically. All you have to do is hit the play triangle. If a browser “Security Warning” dialog box appears prompting you to download the QuickTime Active X Plugin, select “Yes.” The Active X plugin will automatically install. Whether you are on Cable or DSL or dial up, the midi music file load very rapidly, a few seconds at most. If you wish you can transfer the midi file from c:/windows/temporary internet files/ to any folder in order to play it again later. Or, you may continue to play it from the web site (this page, as much as you wish).
Remember to pause a beat before you start a second beat. A Jazz Bebop Beat A Waltz Beat A Rap Beat A Hiphop Beat Same Hiphop Beat Without the Bass A Jazz Swing Beat A Blues Shuffle Beat
