Extending comment on category two, If you have an area of expertise that enables you to regularly, or irregularly provide
informative articles helpful to the SLO community, please tell us about it

Some Category Two areas we're looking for:

- Interesting accounts of historical events and places in the
central coast region
For example:
- What does Los Osos mean and how did that name come about?
- Why are there so many people in SLOCO of Danish heritage?
- Why is the southwest called New Spain and what does San Jacinto have to do with it?
- Who was the bishop San Luis and why is his name attached to this area?
- What affects our local existence and potential joie d'vivre?
- Why is this such a great place for vineyards?
- Where does our water come from? How is its supply threatened?
- Why is our climate so delightful? How is it threatened?
- Why name a nuclear power plant after the devil? Is that an unintended prophecy?
- What is the probable intelligence quotient of a person who puts the following
bumper sticker on the back of their pickup?
"Sierra Club, kiss my ass"
- Is the previous statement an example of community minded constructive behaviour?
- Why are there no wind mills in a windy place like the Osos Valley?
- Area governments
- What government bodies are in the area, what do they do
and how can that information be useful to SLOlings
- Who controls resources such as power and water
- What is their mission and who mandates it?
- How is that mission likely to be corrupted?
- What external factors exist?
- Government control of environmental factors, pollution etc.
- Government agencies that assist citizens and how
- Arts
What areas of art are accessible and supported in the area
and how can ourSLO.com help and how can you help
- ourSLO.com will provide a forum for local writers and poets
and discussion of the works of local writers and poets
- ourSLO.com will provide a forum for local musicians
and discussion of the works of local musicians, dancers, etc.

What sports and hobbies exist in this area and how do they benefit
the community
- School based sports
- Independent sports interests e.g. surfing and paragliding
- The SLOCO hobby world

- ourSLO.com is extremely concerned about providing information
to the community on any area of well being. Again we're not interested
here in supporting products, brands, groups etc. We're looking for
real, useful information that helps people and stories about real
experiences and everyday epiphanies.

- Information on health and longevity support
- Training and Education
- We are living in the age of online education. Almost any subject
is represented in some form via the internet. We need contributors
of online courses in tutorial form that can provide useful skills
and growth for the people of this community. Here are some examples.
- Typing and word processing skills
- Net use and computer literacy courses
- Resource acquisition - how to search the internet etc.
- Life management tutorials - e.g. time management, organization skills
- Home improvement and management skills
- Not to sound like a US Marine advertisement but how can you be all you can be and why should you?
- What areas of knowledge are currently beyond your awareness that would improve your life if
you knew about them?
- Other - what have we missed - you tell us
